We want food quicker and cheaper than ever before. The increase of portion sizes is because we want more bang for our buck. They food quality goes down to accomodate the portions given at cheap prices. Vicious cycle.

Lots of us are walking fatties because of the American diet. You can take a normal weight or even skinny immigrant put the person on the American diet and that person will get fat, also their children will be fat and future generations.

If we do not do something about all the fat and sugar in the US diet and processed foods; we are going to all be walking heart attacks with diabetes.

My weight problem did not start until I started eating fast food too often. For many, the fast food is addictive.

    SmarterHousing: Residential Sales

Hello! The fast food industry has changed the American diet, in part. However, we are responsible primarily for the change. We have made the fast food industry what it is. If we all stopped supporting them, they would not exist, but this will never happen. This question reminds me of a case in NY some years back, when two women sued McDonalds claiming the restaurant made them obese. When will Americans begin to take responsibility for their actions. I am sick and tired of us placing blame on others. It’s ok to eat burgers and fries when you have no pressing health issues, but as soon as the doctors say you have heart disease or diabetes, it’s not ok? Give me a break! I do realize that fast food is made to be affordable, but it all comes down to choices. Take a look at the McDonalds menu. You can eat a burger, or you can choose a salad without their high fructose corn syrup salad dressing, and the price is similar. It’s all about choices.
